Research & Data Storytelling Intern

About CareerVillage.org

CareerVillage.org is a fast-scaling nonprofit at the intersection of education, equity, and technology, building AI-powered tools and a crowdsourcing platform that connects millions of learners with quality career guidance. This includes our AI-powered career coaching platform Coach and our flagship crowdsourcing platform CareerVillage.org which supports millions of learners, over 200,000 professionals, and thousands of teachers.

About the Internship

CareerVillage.org is seeking a Research & Data Storytelling Intern to join our Research Team. The Research Team generates the evidence that shapes how we build, what we prioritize, and how we tell our story to the world. Our focus is evaluating the impact of our tools on career-related behaviors, readiness, and outcomes.

Your role is equal parts translator and investigator: taking dense research and finding the clearest, most compelling way to communicate it. You’ll also dig into our existing survey and conversation data to surface patterns and connections that deepen our narrative.

What you'll do

Research communication

  • Write clear summaries, briefs, and one-pagers from technical analyses, tailored for different audiences (internal teams, partner organizations, the public)
  • Design or collaborate on infographics and data visualizations to communicate research findings
  • Develop and maintain a library of research communication materials (e.g. slide decks, fact sheets, visual summaries)

Data exploration and synthesis

  • Explore our existing data (survey responses, user chat conversations, interviews) to surface patterns that can enrich ongoing research narratives
  • Design criteria for AI evaluations we’re building to systematize qualitative analysis across text data
  • Work with the Research Scientist to connect internal findings to wider field trends

About you

We know no candidate will meet 100% of the qualifications. We value lived experience and transferable skills as much as formal experience. That said, the strongest candidates will bring:

  • Strong writing skills, especially an ability to translate complex content into accessible, engaging language
  • An eye for visual design and experience creating infographics or data visualizations (e.g. Canva, Figma, Adobe Suite)
  • Comfort working with data and quantitative findings — you don't need to be a statistician, but you should be able to read and interpret research
  • Curiosity and initiative to ask questions and find important insights in new data
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, and documentation habits
  • Enthusiasm for using data and storytelling to drive social impact

Location & Timeline

This is a remote internship opportunity. Candidates must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship and able to work standard business hours, with reliable availability Monday–Friday during 9:00 AM–5:00 PM ET for meetings and collaboration. This opportunity runs June 22, 2026 – August 28, 2026, with some flexibility on dates.

What our hiring process looks like

  • Application review
  • 15-minute screening interview
  • 30-minute interview with the team, including a short, role-relevant exercise
  • Final selection

CareerVillage.org is an equal opportunity employer

CareerVillage is an equal opportunity organization that celebrates diversity. Diversity includes race, gender identity, age, national origin, disability status, size, religion, sexual orientation, parental status, socioeconomic background, and many other parts of an individual's identity.
