Internship Title: Inventory Logistics Intern
The Inventory Onboarding Specialist is responsible for ensuring all inventory is accurately registered, tagged, and activated within our inventory management software. This role will expose the student to operations, technology, and partner communication, and is critical to maintaining inventory accuracy, traceability, and readiness for rental.
You’ll work hands-on with garments while also contributing to system setup, documentation, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Registration & Accuracy
- Register all incoming inventory into the inventory management system with precise data entry (SKU, size, condition, brand, attributes).
- Verify inventory accuracy through physical checks and system reconciliation.
- Ensure inventory is properly categorized and ready for rental or circulation.
Garment Tagging & Tracking
- Apply and manage physical tags (RFID, QR, barcodes, or labels) to garments.
- Ensure all tags are correctly linked to digital inventory records.
- Troubleshoot tagging or tracking issues to maintain full inventory visibility.
Inventory Provider Communication
- Serve as a point of contact for inventory providers (brands, partners, consignors).
- Coordinate intake schedules, documentation, and inventory requirements.
- Communicate discrepancies, missing information, or quality issues clearly and promptly.
Process Documentation & Best Practices
- Document onboarding workflows, tagging standards, and system procedures as they evolve.
- Identify inefficiencies or gaps and propose process improvements.
- Help build standardized onboarding playbooks and training materials.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma
- College experience ideal
- Familiar with using Microsoft Office - Gmail, Excel, Word
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working with inventory management software and digital tools
- Organized, methodical, and process-oriented
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple inventory intakes
- Interest in sustainability, circular economy, or rental business models
Nice to Have
- Experience in inventory management, retail operations, logistics, or apparel is a plus
- Experience with RFID, barcode, or asset-tracking systems
- Familiarity with apparel handling, garment care, or fashion operations
- Experience documenting SOPs or operational workflows
LA County Subsidy Eligible Position Information
Subsidy roles require students to have an LA County based address, and be between the ages of 18-24 years old. Once you are placed in a subsidy eligible position you will be required to present the following documents to processed in a Youth Center (AJCC):
- Identification (School or State ID).
- Social Security Card (Please ensure that it is signed).
- Birth Certificate.
- Proof of Los Angeles County Residency, including a postmarked date (Report Card, Transcripts, or any mail that is under the applicant’s name).
- Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination OR valid medical/religious exemption.
- The Youth Center (AJCC) will be paying you for 160 completed hours.
- You will be required to submit timesheets to your youth center (AJCC) to be paid for your time worked.
NOTE: IF YOU WERE ALREADY PLACED IN A SUBSIDY ELIGIBLE POSITION, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO QUALIFY FOR ANOTHER SUBSIDY ELIGIBLE POSITION UNTIL JULY 1ST.
