Blackbird Alliance is a 501(c)(3) organization that empowers professional women of color, allies and co-conspirators at every career stage through programming, services, and resources designed to cultivate community, promote growth, and nurture ambition. Blackbird Alliance is the non-profit sister organization to Blackbird Flagship House, a private work and well being collective and storytelling studio designed to create positive change for women of color, allies and co-conspirators by providing safe space for collaboration both virtually and in-person.

Project Manager Intern 

As a Project Manager Intern, you will work closely with our leadership team to assist in planning, executing, and monitoring various projects across the organization. This position will provide support as needed for Blackbird Alliance programming, but would primarily serve to support the execution of our inaugural Blackbird Founders Fellowship program. This program is oriented towards building out and executing a fellowship program targeted towards a cohort of 10- 12 founder entrepreneurs over a two month period. 

This is a hands-on role that provides valuable experience in project coordination, time management, and partnership collaboration. You will have the opportunity to contribute to inaugural initiatives, refine your project management skills, and gain insight into the project lifecycle within a fast-paced environment. 


What will you do: 

Assist with Project Planning: Support the development of our strategic plan, manage timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with team goals and programmatic requirements.

Coordinate with Partners Collaborate with teams from Blackbird House and external partners with a focus on meeting defined timelines and delegation of responsibilities. 

Track Project Progress: Help monitor project milestones and deadlines, updating project management tools and communicating status reports to stakeholders. 

Problem-Solving and Issue Resolution: Support the team in anticipating obstacles and potential roadblocks, and assist in finding solutions to keep program components on track.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain clear and organized documentation, including meeting notes, action items, and updates. 

Assist with Stakeholder Communication: Help prepare materials for participants and internal meetings, ensuring everyone is informed and aligned on assignments and status towards completion of tasks.

Contribute to Continuous Improvement: Participate in post-project evaluations to identify areas of improvement for future projects. 


What should you have: 

● A commitment to social impact through building community and collaboration.

● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 

● Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. 

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

● Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Luma, Flodesk, etc) is a plus. 

● A proactive and solution-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

● Strong time management skills and a keen ability to meet deadlines.
