Ballinger | Leafblad is honored to partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities in the search for its next Chief Executive Officer. This is a pivotal moment for a leading youth mentoring organization with strong momentum, visibility, and deep community connection. The CEO will serve as both an external ambassador and internal leader, strengthening relationships with donors, partners, and the broader community while advancing strategic priorities and sustainable growth for the future.


The ideal candidate is a visible and relational leader with a deep passion for mentoring, youth development, and a desire to influence long-term outcomes for youth. They bring both strategic clarity and operational discipline, with a track record of building and aligning high-performing teams, strengthening systems, and partnering effectively with boards and community stakeholders. This leader is equally comfortable advancing fundraising efforts and representing the organization externally, while fostering a culture grounded in trust, accountability, and a deep commitment to young people and their potential.



Required Qualifications


  • Brings 7-10 years of executive leadership experience, ideally within a mission-driven or community-centered organization of similar complexity 
  • Understanding of youth development and community impact: brings knowledge of or experience in issue areas affecting young people, including mentorship, education, identity development, and the broader factors that influence long-term outcomes for youth 
  • Demonstrates the ability to lead at a strategic level while effectively delegating and empowering senior leaders 
  • Has experience building, aligning, and developing high-functioning leadership teams with clear accountability 
  • Shows a track record of strengthening organizational systems, structure, and operational effectiveness 
  • Brings strong relationship-building capability with credibility across board, staff, donors, and community stakeholders 
  • Has experience advancing fundraising strategy, including working closely with development teams and engaging directly with donors 
  • Demonstrates the ability to use data and insights to inform decision-making and strengthen impact communication 
  • Leads with a style that balances empathy and relational trust with clarity, consistency, and accountability in decision-making 


Compensation: $225,000 - $250,000 and a very comprehensive benefits package. More details in the full position profile.
