Role Overview

The SAP ABAP Development Level I supports the development, customization, enhancement, and maintenance of SAP applications and database-related components within the Navy ERP environment. This role focuses on supporting SAP technical development activities, troubleshooting application issues, and assisting with system integration and database management tasks in a large-scale federal ERP program. Candidates should have foundational SAP ABAP development experience and familiarity with enterprise system support in government or regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support SAP ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows within the Navy ERP landscape
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving SAP application and database-related issues across development, test, and production environments
• Support technical analysis, debugging, performance tuning, and root cause analysis for SAP custom objects and integrations
• Participate in development activities involving SAP modules such as FI/CO, MM, SD, HR, or other enterprise components
• Support data management, database queries, data extraction, and migration activities as required for ERP operations and reporting
• Assist with SAP transport management, code deployments, and version control processes across system environments
• Collaborate with functional analysts, system administrators, database teams, and Deloitte technical leads to implement system enhancements and fixes
• Support interface development and integration efforts between SAP and external government or enterprise systems
• Maintain technical documentation including functional specifications, technical design documents, code documentation, and configuration records
• Participate in testing activities including unit testing, defect resolution, and support for UAT and production validation efforts
• Ensure development activities follow established security, compliance, and coding standards for DoD and federal ERP systems

Required Qualifications

• 2-4 years of SAP ABAP development or ERP technical support experience
• Working knowledge of SAP ABAP programming including reports, enhancements, SmartForms/SAPScripts, BAPIs, BADIs, user exits, and interfaces
• Basic understanding of relational databases, SQL queries, and SAP data structures
• Experience supporting enterprise ERP applications in a structured SDLC environment
• Active Tier 3 (Secret) clearance - mandatory at time of hire
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills



Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting SAP environments within DoD or federal government programs
• Familiarity with SAP HANA, SAP Fiori, or SAP integration technologies
• Knowledge of Navy ERP architecture and enterprise support processes
• Experience with SAP transport management and change control procedures
• Exposure to database administration or data management activities in SAP environments
• Understanding of cybersecurity and compliance requirements in federal systems (RMF/FISMA awareness preferred)
• SAP ABAP Development certification or related SAP technical certification preferred
• Experience working within Agile or hybrid project delivery environments
