About Resolute Solutions

Resolute Solutions is a Houston-headquartered Defense IT contractor delivering intelligent automation, SAP modernization, and AI/ML solutions to U.S. military and federal agency customers. We hold triple small business certifications — 8(a), SDVOSB, and HUBZone — and an active Secret facility clearance. Our work supports mission-critical systems at the Defense Logistics Agency, the U.S. Navy, and other Department of Defense organizations.

We don't waste time, talent, or resources. We're growing the next generation of practitioner-engineers — people who can build production-grade automation and AI systems for federal missions — and this internship is the front door to that team.

Program Overview

The AI & Automation Internship is a structured, paid program designed to give you real engineering experience on real defense automation projects — not busywork, not shadowing. You'll join a small cohort of fellow Houston-area computer science seniors and progress through three phases:

  • Phase 1 — Foundation: Earn your UiPath Developer Associate certification, learn our AI engineering stack and agentic workflows, and get embedded in our delivery practices.
  • Phase 2 — Sandbox Projects: Join 2–3 person teams on real Resolute problem domains — government contracting workflow automations, internal AI tools, federal client deliverables.
  • Phase 3 — Innovation Challenge: Compete in a final build event. Present your work to Resolute leadership. Top performers receive full-time offers and signing bonuses.

Program length runs 10–24 weeks depending on your academic schedule and the cohort window you join.

What You'll Do

  • Build UiPath automations against defined business processes, with code review and mentorship from senior engineers.
  • Develop AI-powered features and agents using modern frameworks and AI coding tools.
  • Contribute to internal product builds, including our Vector business development tool and ROS internal AI platform.
  • Document your work clearly — we expect engineers, not coders, and clear writing is part of the job.
  • Participate in async daily check-ins and weekly team syncs — most coordination happens through our orchestration layer, not meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • Senior-year undergraduate in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field, graduating Summer or Fall 2026
  • U.S. Citizen — no dual citizenship — and eligible to obtain a Secret-level security clearance
  • Primary residence in a HUBZone-designated address in the Greater Houston area (verify at maps.certify.sba.gov)
  • Strong programming fundamentals — comfortable in at least one modern language (Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Git, command-line basics, and standard developer tooling
  • Clear written and verbal communication — you can explain what you built and why
  • Technically curious, self-directed, and an independent problem solver — you can move a task from "assigned" to "shipped" without constant oversight
  • Available to work 10 hours per week consistently and attend periodic in-person collaboration days at our Houston office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior exposure to RPA platforms (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate) or AI/ML coursework
  • Experience with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot)
  • Internship, capstone, hackathon, or open-source experience that demonstrates shipped work
  • Interest in defense mission work, national security, or government modernization

What You'll Gain

  • UiPath Developer Associate certification (Resolute pays the exam fee at full-time conversion)
  • Production AI engineering experience that most mid-career engineers haven't reached
  • A portfolio of real automations and AI features deployed against real customers
  • Mentorship from senior practitioners who actively deliver on federal contracts
  • A direct path to a full-time offer with signing bonus — no second interview loop required

This Role Is / Is Not

  • Is a working engineering role with real customer-facing impact from week one
  • Is a deliberate investment in your training — we pay for certifications and we mean it
  • Is a real path to a full-time offer based on demonstrated performance, not interview chemistry
  • Is Not a coffee-and-shadowing internship or a credential-padding exercise
  • Is Not a tier-1 helpdesk or general IT support role

How to Apply

Send the following to careers@resolutesolns.com with the subject line "AI & Automation Intern Application — [Your Name]":

  • Resume (PDF)
  • Brief note (3–5 sentences) on what you want to build and why this program interests you
  • Optional: GitHub, portfolio, or links to anything you've shipped

Confirm your HUBZone address eligibility before applying using the SBA HUBZone map at maps.certify.sba.gov.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Strong candidates will be invited to a short technical conversation followed by a working session with a senior engineer.

Resolute Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are committed to building a team that reflects the communities we serve. Employment is contingent on verification of U.S. citizenship and HUBZone residence eligibility.
