Our client is an industry-leading manufacturer of pressure vessels and specialized fabrications serving customers throughout North America. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a full-time Sales Manager to build customer relationships, support quoting activity, and lead sales efforts — with a clear path of growth into a VP of Sales role for the right person.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This is a ground-floor opportunity to learn the business from the inside out — estimating, quoting, customer relationships, and markets — before stepping into full sales leadership. You will work closely with and be mentored directly by the VP of Sales, a 40+ year industry veteran with relationships across the country. This role is best suited for someone with real runway for growth: motivated, hungry, and ready to build a long-term career rather than just fill a seat.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up, outbound calls, emails, and customer outreach
• Understand customer needs and requirements to qualify opportunities and route prospects appropriately
• Close sales and work toward quarterly goals — annual company sales target of approximately $14–14.5 million
• Research accounts, identify key players, generate interest, and maintain the customer database
• Partner closely with Project Management to ensure strong communication with internal teams and customers
• Provide weekly sales reports to the VP of Sales
• Learn and support material costing, manage elements of the Estimating Team, and maintain estimating tools (Excel-based with macros)
• Lead estimate and quote review; attend customer visits and support 2–3 industry shows per year
• Serve markets including water (municipal, wastewater, industrial), energy, air, fabrication, rolled and weld fab, and OEM
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• Background in steel, general manufacturing, or industrial fabrication — direct exposure to pressure vessels, tanks, or welded/rolled steel products strongly preferred
• Proven sales experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding goals
• Strong phone presence, communication skills, and relationship-building ability — comfort with both fast transactional sales and multi-year relationship cultivation
• High comfort level in Microsoft Excel; the estimating system is Excel/macro-based
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
• Willingness to work in-office daily during the initial learning period
• Preferred knowledge of ASME pressure vessels, API tanks, steel/stainless steel, welding, or material grades
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• Quarterly sales goal bonus potential
• Commission structure introduced after initial learning period
• Company cell phone, mileage reimbursement, and travel expenses covered
• Strong tools and software provided to support your success
• Direct mentorship from a VP of Sales with 40+ years of industry experience
