About the Organization

Founded in 2021, TeachAAPI is a national nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that Asian American and Pacific Islander stories are deeply woven into American education. Partnering with Pre-K through 12 schools, TeachAAPI provides culturally responsive curriculum, educator tools, and student programming that help young people understand AAPI history as an essential part of the American story. Now serving more than 50 schools across 10 states, TeachAAPI aims to reach one million students by 2028.


Position Summary

TeachAAPI seeks its first Executive Director to lead the organization into its next stage of growth and national impact. This is a results-driven leadership role with a strong emphasis on fundraising and revenue development in the first year—professionalizing development strategy, diversifying funding sources, and converting early momentum into sustainable support. Over time, the Executive Director will expand focus to organizational growth, program strategy, and board governance, partnering closely with a highly engaged Board and Educator Advisory Council. This is a hands-on, entrepreneurial role for a leader who can bring structure, urgency, and discipline while honoring the organization’s mission and values.


Location, Compensation & Benefits

TeachAAPI is a remote organization with a preference for candidates based in California (Los Angeles or San Francisco Bay Area) or New York City. The salary range for this role is $130,000–$150,000, commensurate with experience, and includes a comprehensive benefits package with health coverage, paid time off, and flexible work arrangements.
