Organizational Overview: Haymarket Center
Founded in 1975, Haymarket Center is the largest nonprofit community-based adult detoxification, residential, and outpatient substance use treatment and mental health facility in Chicago. With locations in Chicago, O’Hare, and Waukegan, Haymarket Center has continued to grow into a comprehensive alcohol and other drug treatment organization. Operating a $40 million dollar budget Haymarket Center is licensed by the state of Illinois and receives funding from the private sector, as well as city, county, state and federal agencies. As a designated Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) look-a-like, Haymarket Center provides comprehensive, culturally competent, high-quality primary health care services.

The Opportunity
Haymarket Center seeks a highly organized and strategic Director of Grants Management to enhance funding models and develop sustainable, effective grant programs. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Director is responsible for overseeing an extensive portfolio and will manage Haymarket Center’s 63 active grants. The Director will be responsible for supervising a Grants Manager and Grants Analyst. This high-volume environment is driven by a high-performing team that submitted 29 grants in the last year alone. The Director will lead the team that prepares and submits grant proposals, while managing the execution of numerous contracts and grant reports.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented leader who can balance independent judgment with the ability to work effectively under the pressure of tight deadlines. As a key contributor to the organization’s growth, the Director will assist Senior Leadership in designing evidence-based grant programs and conducting academic-quality research to support a statement of need and program implementation. This role requires a blend of excellent writing skills, computer proficiency, and the ability to translate complex RFP requirements into compelling, compliant proposals.

Location, Compensation, and Benefits
Haymarket Center is in Chicago, IL with their Central Administrative Offices at 932 W. Washington Chicago, IL 60607 near the West Loop. This is an in-person role.
The salary range for this role is between $100,000 - $110,000 with a generous benefit package.
