Position Summary
Morris Heights Health Center (MHHC) seeks a mission-driven Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to provide strategic physician leadership and clinical oversight across MHHC’s network of 30 health centers. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a key member of the senior leadership team, the CMO will set system-wide clinical direction, strengthen standards of care, and drive measurable improvements in quality, safety, compliance, and patient outcomes - while also ensuring operational discipline, workflow efficiency, and service excellence across a complex, high-volume environment. The CMO will oversee eight direct reports (including the Deputy CMO and clinical leaders across key service lines) and guide a multidisciplinary clinical workforce of 200+ providers, supporting provider performance, morale, staffing, and physician relations while ensuring MHHC remains a trusted medical home for 50,000+ patients annually. This leader will also bring a forward-looking lens - anticipating community needs, strengthening evidence-based protocols, and advancing innovation in programs and care delivery in support of MHHC’s health equity mission.
Location, Compensation & Benefits
This is an on-site position based in the Bronx, New York, with occasional travel to MHHC’s locations in Brooklyn. The salary range for this opportunity is $300,000–$400,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
