Role Summary: Executive Director
The Melton Foundation seeks a visionary and strategic Executive Director to lead the organization into its next phase of growth and global impact. Building on a strong legacy and a vibrant global network, the next leader will guide the Foundation in sharpening its strategic direction, expanding its reach and influence, and strengthening its operational and financial sustainability.
Reporting to and working closely with the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will play a critical role in defining what the next era of the Melton Foundation looks like. This includes clarifying the organization’s programmatic and strategic priorities, activating and leveraging its global fellowship network, and building a compelling narrative that positions the Foundation as a leader in the global citizenship space.
As the organization’s primary external representative, the Executive Director will cultivate relationships with partners, funders, and thought leaders across sectors. Internally, they will lead a distributed, global team and community, strengthening systems, structures, and culture to support a more cohesive and scalable organization.
The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and an execution-oriented leader who thrives in global, network-driven environments and is energized by the opportunity to translate mission into measurable, sustained impact.
Location and Compensation
The Melton Foundation operates as a globally distributed organization. The Executive Director may be based in a location that supports effective collaboration across time zones, with a preference for candidates who can maintain strong connectivity with the Foundation’s global network.
Regular travel will be required for board engagement, network convenings, and partner meetings.
Compensation for this position is competitive and benchmarked against global market data, varying by region to ensure alignment with regional cost of living estimations.
