Salary: $85,000 – $90,000 annually (commensurate with experience)

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of lost-time (indemnity) workers’ compensation claims from inception through resolution
- Analyze and resolve complex claims by gathering medical, legal, and employment information
- Determine compensability and calculate benefits, including TTD, PPD, and other indemnity payments
- Develop and execute strategic action plans to ensure timely claim resolution
- Accurately assign and adjust reserves; process claim payments and necessary adjustments
- Prepare and file required state documentation within statutory deadlines, with a focus on Maryland jurisdiction requirements
- Manage litigation and coordinate with defense counsel, IMEs, and other vendors
- Apply cost-containment strategies and identify opportunities for subrogation and recovery
- Communicate claim activity clearly and professionally with clients, claimants, and stakeholders
- Coordinate medical treatment and return-to-work efforts
- Ensure proper documentation, coding, and compliance for all claim files
- Refer complex cases to leadership as needed and adhere to established service standards
Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of workers’ compensation claims experience, including lost-time/indemnity claims

Strongly Preferred: 1–2 years of experience handling Maryland (MD) jurisdiction claims

Licensing: No Maryland adjuster license required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; professional certifications a plus
Preferred Background / Experience
- County claims experience (minimum 1 year)
- School district claims experience (minimum 3 years)
- Presumption claims experience
Skills
- Strong knowledge of workers’ compensation laws and lost-time claims handling
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and claims management systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate while working in a fully remote environment
