Reporting to the Controls Engineer Supervisor, this role keeps plant production and facility equipment running safely and reliably by performing electrical and multi-craft maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair production machinery and building systems to minimize downtime.
- Install, troubleshoot, and service electrical systems (controls, motor controls, lighting, instruments, branch circuits, field wiring).
- Perform mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic/steam system repairs (valves, actuators, and common industrial pumps).
- Read and use schematics, drawings, manuals, and PLC ladder logic (Allen Bradley/ABB) to diagnose issues and restore operation.
- Support VFD setup/operation and troubleshooting (Allen Bradley, Yaskawa, ABB, etc.).
- Install conduit and wiring devices (EMT, rigid, and plastic conduit systems).
- Weld as needed for equipment repair and fabrication.
- Document maintenance work (tests, repairs, requests, and preventive maintenance) and communicate equipment shutdowns.
- Promote safe work practices, housekeeping, and assist in training maintenance staff on installation/troubleshooting.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred).
- Strong safety mindset; working knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E/PPE requirements.
- Manufacturing/industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Reliable, self-directed, team-oriented; willing to work overtime as needed.
- Able to perform physical work; forklift operation required.
