The Facilities Engineering Manager will oversee the reliability and operational integrity of all plant systems, machinery, and infrastructure. This leadership role is essential for maintaining a safe and productive work environment through strategic management of all physical assets and technical personnel.
Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, onboard, and develop technical staff to meet operational needs
- Create and manage work assignments, project schedules, and resource allocation
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback for professional growth
- Implement corrective actions and disciplinary measures in compliance with organizational standards
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with departmental leaders to align maintenance initiatives with production goals
- Foster a culture of teamwork and shared responsibility across all departments
- Ensure strict adherence to personal protective equipment requirements in designated areas
- Assess equipment and facility needs through regular consultation with stakeholders across the organization
- Develop and administer the annual maintenance budget, tracking expenditures against financial targets
- Implement immediate corrective actions for operational deficiencies or safety concerns
- Conduct regular facility inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards
- Optimize production output through strategic prioritization of maintenance activities
- Partner with facilities operations to maintain reliable utility systems including HVAC, compressed air, water, electrical, and gas systems
- Establish and enforce standardized operating procedures for all maintenance activities
- Contribute actively to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programs
- Develop and refine predictive maintenance protocols based on performance data and equipment inspections
- Serve as technical expert for resolving complex maintenance challenges through collaborative problem-solving
- Supervise maintenance personnel activities and ensure quality completion of assigned tasks
- Stay current with industry best practices through professional development and continuing education
- Implement quality management system standards relevant to maintenance operations
- Optimize equipment reliability through comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Qualifications & Requirements
- 7+ years of industrial/manufacturing experience with exposure to maintenance operations
- 4+ years in a leadership role managing technical or maintenance teams
- Proven ability to apply systematic troubleshooting methodologies to resolve complex technical issues
- Expertise in at least one technical discipline: mechanical systems, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, automation controls, or maintenance management software
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business applications
