Brake Press Operator

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Brake Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating brake press machines to bend, form, and shape metal plates and sheets according to specifications and blueprints. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work with various types of metal and thicknesses.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine proper machine setup and bending sequences
• Set up brake press machines with appropriate tooling, dies, and settings for each job
• Operate brake press equipment to bend, form, and shape metal materials according to precise measurements
• Select appropriate tooling and determine bend sequences for complex parts
• Perform quality checks on finished products using measuring tools such as calipers, protractors, and square rulers
• Maintain equipment by performing routine cleaning, lubrication, and minor adjustments
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Track production quantities and complete necessary documentation
• Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and meet deadlines

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of experience operating brake press machines in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Proficiency with measuring tools and precision instruments
• Basic math skills including fractions, decimals, and angle measurements
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking
