Manufacturing Operations Coordinator

This role provides critical support to department leadership in managing daily production operations while actively participating in hands-on manufacturing tasks. The position focuses on maintaining a safe, efficient, and quality-driven work environment that supports customer satisfaction, continuous improvement initiatives, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with leadership team members and colleagues to ensure seamless operational execution
  • Contribute to organizational objectives through effective teamwork and cross-functional cooperation
  • Maintain strict adherence to personal protective equipment requirements in all designated areas
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and flexibility in transitioning between independent and team-based work
  • Oversee daily production schedules by optimizing workforce deployment, equipment utilization, and material flow
  • Enforce established company policies and procedures throughout the production floor
  • Support leadership in evaluating team member performance and implementing appropriate corrective actions
  • Identify and address safety hazards within primary work areas and across the facility
  • Conduct regular training sessions and operational meetings, documenting development opportunities
  • Facilitate comprehensive training on quality standards, work instructions, preventive maintenance, and safety protocols
  • Ensure clear communication of relevant information between shifts and leadership teams
  • Manage material movement throughout the department, coordinating with material handling personnel
  • Oversee accurate documentation of production metrics including output, scrap, downtime, and workforce movements
  • Support equipment setup and quality assurance processes as needed
  • Coordinate maintenance activities by submitting work orders and interfacing with technical staff
  • Participate in operational improvement initiatives and implementation strategies
  • Direct team members in maintaining clean work areas, equipment, and organized production spaces
  • Contribute to problem-solving initiatives and root cause analysis for operational challenges
  • Operate production equipment as needed (up to 80% of time) to maintain workflow continuity
  • Ensure timely availability of materials from controlled storage areas to workstations
  • Support scheduling of team member time off to maintain production coverage
  • Serve as emergency responder when properly trained and certified
  • Implement and maintain quality management system compliance, including internal auditing when qualified
  • Participate in operational review processes and continuous improvement activities

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational credential
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Proficiency with measurement tools and ability to interpret technical drawings
  • Capacity to develop expertise in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing methodologies
