This is a unique, ground-floor opportunity for a dynamic and experienced leader to build and run a new venture in the pre-engineered construction space. We are a well-capitalized, confidential start-up focused on delivering high-quality design-build solutions, primarily utilizing systems like Butler Buildings. We are seeking a visionary General Manager to lay the foundation, build the team, and drive the company from its inception to a market leader. This is a role for an entrepreneurial leader who thrives on autonomy and wants to leave a significant mark on a growing company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the overall business strategy, market positioning, and growth plan for the company.
• P&L Management: Hold full P&L responsibility, driving revenue growth, managing costs, and ensuring profitability.
• Operations Oversight: Lead all aspects of the project lifecycle, from estimating and design to procurement, construction, and final delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Business Development: Act as the primary face of the company in the market. Leverage your existing network and drive new business development efforts to build a robust project pipeline.
• Team Building & Culture: Recruit, hire, train, and lead a high-performing team. Foster a positive, safety-first, and entrepreneurial culture where employees are empowered to excel.
• Client & Vendor Relations: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, architects, subcontractors, and key suppliers, including Butler Manufacturing or similar pre-engineered building partners.
• Project Management: Oversee a portfolio of concurrent projects, implementing best-in-class project management processes and ensuring client satisfaction.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Proven Experience: A minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in the commercial construction industry, with a significant focus on pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB).
• Specific System Expertise: Direct, hands-on experience with Butler Buildings is strongly preferred. Deep knowledge of their systems, estimating software, and construction processes is a major advantage.
• Design-Build Acumen: A strong track record of successfully managing design-build projects, with a deep understanding of how to integrate design, engineering, and construction for maximum efficiency and value.
• Local Market Presence: Must be a resident of or have deep, established roots and a professional network within the Appleton, WI area. This is non-negotiable.
• Entrepreneurial Spirit: Must genuinely enjoy the challenges and rewards of a start-up environment. This includes being a hands-on leader who is comfortable with ambiguity and wearing multiple hats.
• Leadership & Financial Acumen: Demonstrated experience in a general management, operations, or project executive role with full P&L responsibility.
• Education: A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
