Job Title: Tool Crib & Maintenance Shop Supervisor

Location: New Brunswick, NJ

Compensation: $75,000–$80,000 annually

Schedule: On-site, full-time


Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Tool Crib and Maintenance Shop Supervisor to oversee daily operations of the maintenance tool crib and shop floor. This role is responsible for tool control, parts inventory, maintenance support, and coordination with maintenance technicians to ensure equipment uptime, safety, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This is not a clipboard-only role. You will be in the shop, in the details, and accountable for keeping maintenance teams properly equipped and moving.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the tool crib and maintenance shop
  • Manage inventory of tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies
  • Issue, track, and maintain tools and equipment to ensure accountability and availability
  • Coordinate with maintenance technicians and supervisors to support preventive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and reorder points to prevent downtime
  • Ensure proper storage, calibration, and condition of tools and equipment
  • Support CMMS usage including parts tracking, work order support, and documentation
  • Enforce safety standards, housekeeping, and 5S practices within the shop and tool crib
  • Train and guide maintenance staff on tool crib procedures and best practices
  • Partner with operations, safety, and leadership to support production goals


Qualifications

  • Prior experience supervising a tool crib, maintenance shop, or similar operation in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and maintenance tools and parts
  • Inventory management experience, including cycle counts and reorder processes
  • Comfortable working closely with maintenance technicians and leadership
  • Experience with CMMS systems preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to lead by example in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
