As the organization continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to assist the CFO and join their leadership team and help drive financial performance, operational excellence, and business visibility.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this role offers a unique opportunity to move beyond traditional accounting responsibilities and become a trusted business partner to executive leadership and project teams. The successful candidate will play a critical role in financial reporting, project accounting, billing operations, cash flow management, and overall business performance.


Position Summary

The accounting specialist will support the financial and administrative operations of the organization while helping leadership maintain clear visibility into project performance, profitability, and company-wide financial health. This individual will work closely with project managers and executive leadership to improve reporting, strengthen financial controls, manage billing and receivables, and ensure the timely delivery of accurate financial information that supports strategic decision-making.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the CFO in overseeing daily financial operations.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports.
  • Monitor project budgets, labor utilization, billing activity, and project profitability.
  • Coordinate monthly invoicing, revenue tracking, and collections activities.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
  • Support payroll processing, payroll tax filings, and year-end reporting requirements.
  • Maintain and improve financial controls, procedures, and reporting processes.
  • Partner with project managers to improve financial accountability and project performance.
  • Assist with employee onboarding, benefits administration, and retirement plan coordinat
  • Provide financial analysis and operational insights to support executive decision-making.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding company, employee, and client information.


Qualifications


  • Required Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting, finance, or financial operations experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skils.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail

Prefrerred Experience

  • Experience within Architecture, Engineering, Construction (AEC), Consulting, or Professional Services organizations
  • Deltek Ajera experience
  • Project accounting and project financial management experience.
  • Financial reporting and performance analysis expertise.
  • Experience with payroll administration, 941, 940, W-2, and 1099 reporting.
  • Experience supporting employee benefits and 401(k) administration.
