Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced General Liability Claims Adjuster to assist with a significant existing inventory of approximately 150 claims. This position will focus on claims triage, investigation, evaluation, and resolution. No new claims will be assigned to this desk.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level adjuster who enjoys digging into claims, taking ownership of their inventory, and actively working claims toward closure.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and triage an inventory of approximately 150 existing General Liability claims.
• Investigate claims that may have received little or no prior handling.
• Handle a mixed portfolio of General Liability claims, including slip-and-fall and premises liability exposures.
• Review claim files, coverage information, liability, damages, and supporting documentation.
• Contact insureds, claimants, attorneys, vendors, and other involved parties as necessary.
• Proactively manage claims and move files toward resolution and closure.
• Make appropriate claim decisions and recommendations based on investigation and available information.
• Maintain accurate and timely claim documentation.
• Work independently while communicating regularly with management regarding claim status and significant exposures.
• Prioritize direct communication and phone contact rather than relying solely on email.
• Identify opportunities to resolve and close claims efficiently.

Required Qualifications

• Mid-level claims adjusting experience with a strong General Liability background.
• Experience independently managing an inventory of claims from investigation through resolution.
• Strong investigative, analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Comfortable handling claims that may require significant review and follow-up.
• Strong verbal communication skills and confidence communicating by phone with multiple parties.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage a large existing inventory.
• Ability to quickly learn and navigate an internet-based claims system.

Preferred Qualifications

• California Adjuster License strongly preferred.
• Multiple state adjuster licenses highly preferred if California licensing is not available.
• Experience with slip-and-fall, and other General Liability claims.
• Experience handling claims with varying levels of complexity and exposure.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully reduce claim inventory and close files.

• The adjuster will work primarily within an existing internet-based claims system.
• No new claims are expected to be added to the desk.
