Sr. Workers Compensation Adjuster

In this senior role you will drive timely, fair resolution of complex workers’ compensation claims so injured employees return to work safely and policyholders stay protected. Performance Objectives

  • Investigate and resolve a portfolio of moderate-to-high severity workers’ compensation claims, determining coverage, compensability and liability within 30 days of assignment.
  • Establish and maintain accurate reserves that reflect true financial exposure; update stakeholders within 48 hours of material changes.
  • Negotiate settlements and medical-cost-containment agreements that reduce allocated loss-adjustment expense while meeting quality and compliance standards.
  • Partner with injured workers, medical providers and policyholders to achieve documented, safe return-to-work outcomes on at least 70 % of lost-time claims.
  • Direct outside counsel on litigated files, attending mediations and hearings as needed to close files within jurisdictional best-practice timelines.
  • Identify recovery and risk-transfer opportunities and execute them to recoup at least 10 % of paid losses annually.
  • Mentor junior adjusters and contribute to file-quality audits that keep the team above 90 % compliance with claims guidelines.

Environment & Resources

You will report to a Claims Manager and will have full access to our claims platform and medical-bill-review vendors.

Essential Qualifications

  • 3+ years handling commercial workers’ compensation claims of medium-to-high complexity, including litigated files.
  • Proven ability to obtain and maintain required state adjuster licenses.
  • Demonstrated skill in reserve-setting, negotiation and multi-jurisdictional WC law.
  • Strong written and verbal communication that builds trust with agents, policyholders and injured workers.
  • License required
