Director of Operations | IRO | Peer Review

San Antonio, TX | Onsite | Relocation Assistance Available on a Discretionary Basis

Lead. Scale. Transform.

QuestPro is representing a growing organization in the independent clinical review and healthcare services space in its search for a Director of Operations.

This is an opportunity for a proven healthcare operations leader to take ownership of a high-volume, time-sensitive operation and help shape what comes next.

We're particularly interested in leaders coming from IRO, Independent Medical Review, Utilization Management, Peer Review, Disability Review, or related healthcare operations.

And you don't necessarily need to already have the Director title.

If you're a strong Operations Manager or Senior Manager who has been successfully leading people, improving performance, and taking on increasing responsibility, this could be the opportunity that accelerates you into your next leadership level.

What You'll Own

  • Lead day-to-day operations across a high-volume clinical review environment
  • Drive consistent turnaround times, quality, productivity, and client service
  • Build scalable staffing and capacity strategies as the business continues to grow
  • Establish and leverage operational KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics
  • Identify bottlenecks and lead meaningful workflow and process improvements
  • Strengthen quality controls and reduce operational and administrative errors
  • Partner with Clinical, Client Success, Product, and external physician resources
  • Develop people, strengthen accountability, and build a scalable leadership structure
  • Use data and root-cause analysis to continuously improve performance and efficiency
  • Help evaluate and implement technology and automation opportunities

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of progressive healthcare operations leadership
  • Experience in IRO, IMR, Utilization Management, Peer Review, Disability Review, or a closely related environment
  • Experience managing high-volume, deadline-driven operations in a regulated setting
  • Demonstrated success improving workflow, quality, productivity, turnaround times, or service levels
  • Experience leading teams and coordinating internal and external resources
  • Experience working with physicians, clinical experts, or provider networks is highly valued
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to operations
  • A hands-on leadership style with the ability to move comfortably between strategy and execution
  • Someone who sees an operational challenge and wants to build the solution—not simply manage around it

Why This Role?

This isn't a “keep the trains running” opportunity.

You'll have the opportunity to shape the operation, improve how work gets done, develop people, and help a growing organization scale without sacrificing quality.

For an established Director, it's an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

For a strong Manager or Senior Manager, it could be the career move that puts you into your next level of leadership.

Why San Antonio?

If relocation is part of the conversation, San Antonio deserves a serious look.

Think big-city opportunity without the big-city headache—great food, rich culture, outdoor living, Hill Country access, and a cost of living that remains attractive compared with many other major Texas markets.

Honestly, it may be one of Texas' best-kept secrets.

If you're ready to move from managing the operation to leading it, we'd love to hear from you.
