Finance Analyst | Strategic FP&A Focus

QuestPro is partnering with an established, innovative industry leader seeking a Finance Analyst who wants more than just another finance role.

This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing organization where Finance is a true strategic partner. You’ll work closely with an innovative executive leadership team, corporate stakeholders, Accounting, and field operations to provide insights that directly influence business decisions, financial performance, and long-term growth.

This is not a traditional reporting role. This is a high-visibility opportunity for someone who wants to be valued, recognized, and have a meaningful impact while building a long-term career with an organization at the forefront of a growing and evolving industry.

The Opportunity

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial analysis, strategic planning, and data-driven decision-making. This role will focus on customer and service profitability analysis, financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and supporting strategic initiatives that drive business performance.

You’ll have the opportunity to translate complex financial data into actionable insights and partner with leaders across the organization to improve performance, identify opportunities, and support informed business strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial analysis to evaluate performance, profitability, trends, and business opportunities.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, FP&A initiatives, and variance analysis.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and operational decision-making.
  • Analyze customer and service profitability, pricing initiatives, and business performance metrics.
  • Partner with Accounting and field operations to understand financial drivers and improve business outcomes.
  • Prepare and present financial reporting, dashboards, and insights for senior leadership.
  • Support audit activities, financial controls, and data validation processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, processes, and financial operations through automation and technology.
  • Assist with commission and bonus calculations through analysis and validation of performance data.
  • Support special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed by Finance leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, strategic finance, FP&A, or business finance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
  • CPA, CFA, or progress toward an advanced finance/accounting credential is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Experience partnering with both Accounting and operational teams to support business decisions.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and audit-related activities.
  • Strong Excel skills with experience building financial models and analyzing complex data sets.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple initiatives, and collaborate across functions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • FP&A experience supporting strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and operational performance.
  • Experience implementing process improvements, automation, or enhanced reporting solutions.
  • Experience with ERP systems, SQL, VBA/Macros, Power BI, or similar financial analytics tools.
  • Industry experience within Property & Casualty Insurance, Workers’ Compensation, Managed Care, Cost Containment Services, Healthcare Services, or Insurance Technology is highly valued but not required.

Candidates with experience understanding service profitability, operational performance, customer economics, or complex business models will be especially well positioned for success.

Why This Opportunity?

You don’t see opportunities like this every day.

This role offers the chance to work alongside an innovative C-suite and leadership team where your analysis, ideas, and recommendations are valued. You’ll have visibility into strategic decisions, the ability to improve processes, and the opportunity to make a measurable impact.

Rather than being just another Finance Analyst focused on reporting, this is an opportunity to become a trusted business partner and build a meaningful long-term career with a company that invests in its people and embraces innovation.

Hybrid schedule: 2 days per week in the Southern California office.
