Personal Lines Underwriting Manager

Our client, a highly respected private mutual insurance company with 120+ years of success in the P&C industry, is seeking a Personal Lines Underwriting Manager to lead underwriting operations, drive profitable growth, and develop a high-performing team. Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of underwriting professionals
• Drive profitable growth and maintain a balanced book of business
• Serve as a referral underwriter and provide technical guidance
• Build and maintain strong agency and internal relationships
• Improve workflows, processes, and operational efficiencies
• Ensure underwriting quality, compliance, and service standards
• Collaborate cross-functionally on strategic initiatives and long-term planning

Qualifications

• Leadership experience managing insurance underwriting teams
• Strong knowledge of personal lines underwriting principles and best practices
• Excellent relationship-building, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
• CPCU, AU, or CIC designation preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and underwriting systems

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $102,200 – $140,470 + bonus opportunity
