Liability Supervisor

Location: Nassau County / Long Island, NY preferred; NYC, New Jersey, or Remote considered

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Liability Supervisor to lead a team of approximately 4–5 Liability Adjusters. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior or Lead Liability Adjuster who is ready to take the next step into a formal supervisory role.

The ideal candidate will have strong New York liability claims experience, a solid understanding of New York Labor Law, and the ability to mentor adjusters while overseeing claim quality, strategy, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a team of approximately 4–5 Liability Adjusters.
• Guide complex liability claims, coverage issues, and claim strategy.
• Review claim files for accuracy, quality, reserves, and appropriate handling.
• Coach and mentor adjusters to improve technical skills and performance.
• Assist with escalated and high-severity liability claims.
• Ensure claims are handled in accordance with company guidelines and applicable New York regulations.
• Collaborate with internal teams, defense counsel, insureds, and other claims professionals.
• Help establish best practices and maintain high standards for claim resolution.

Required Qualifications

• Strong General Liability / Liability Claims experience.
• Significant experience handling New York liability claims.
• Strong knowledge of New York Labor Law.
• Active New York Adjuster License required.
• Familiarity with the New York insurance and claims environment.
• Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple claims and priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior management, supervisory, or lead experience.
• Experience mentoring or developing other adjusters.
• Experience handling complex or litigated liability claims.
• Experience working with defense counsel and managing litigation strategy.

Experience with several of the following is highly desirable:

• Slip-and-fall claims
• New York Labor Law claims
• Contractor-related claims
• Building, condominium, and co-op liability
• General accident claims
• Premises liability
• Construction-related liability

Location & Work Arrangement

Candidates based in Long Island, New York City, or New Jersey are encouraged to apply. Remote candidates may also be considered.

The position is hybrid preferred, but the company is willing to be flexible for the right candidate. Initial training will be conducted onsite for several weeks.

Compensation

Target Salary: $90,000 to $150,000

Compensation is negotiable based on the candidate's experience, technical expertise, and leadership background.

This role is particularly well suited for a Senior Liability Adjuster or Lead Adjuster who has strong New York claims expertise and is ready to transition into a supervisory position.
