Remote Group Health Underwriter (Contract)

100% Remote | Contract Through the End of the Year | $30/hr | Equipment Provided

We're seeking experienced Healthcare Insurance Underwriters to join a fast-growing insurance organization during a busy enrollment season. This is a great opportunity for underwriters who enjoy working independently, learning quickly, and contributing in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review insurance applications and supporting documentation to evaluate risk and determine eligibility for coverage.
• Make underwriting decisions based on established guidelines, pricing strategies, and risk appetite.
• Partner with senior underwriters on complex cases and escalate exceptions as needed.
• Accurately document underwriting decisions and maintain records within internal systems.
• Identify trends in underwriting outcomes and provide feedback to support process improvements.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including Sales, Claims, and Operations, to support an efficient customer experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Healthcare Insurance Underwriting experience required
• Bachelor's degree required
• Group Health underwriting experience strongly preferred.
• Salesforce experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Positive, team-oriented mindset with the ability to quickly learn new processes.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
