Job Title: Workers/' Compensation Claims Specialist - NY (Temporary)

Location: Remote (candidates local to Dewitt, NY welcome to work in-office)

Hours: 37.5 hours/week

Duration: Temporary, ongoing for now; potential to convert to a permanent hire for the right candidate

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Claims Specialist to join our Workers' Compensation claims team on a temporary basis. This individual will manage a desk of approximately 118 pending New York Workers' Compensation claims, with new assignments added on an ongoing basis. The role covers both represented and unrepresented claims, as well as litigated and non-litigated matters.

Responsibilities:

• Investigate and handle New York Workers' Compensation claims from inception through resolution
• Issue timely and accurate claim payments
• Set and adjust reserves in accordance with claim exposure
• Communicate and coordinate directly with insureds and brokers
• Manage a mixed caseload of represented/unrepresented and litigated/non-litigated claims
• Maintain compliance with NY jurisdictional requirements

Requirements:

• Prior experience handling NY Workers' Compensation claims required
• Strong working knowledge of NY jurisdictional rules and processes
• No adjuster license required
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Strong communication skills for regular interaction with insureds and brokers

Schedule: 37.5 hours/week, remote with option to work on-site in Dewitt, NY for local candidates
