Account Executive

Clients do not need another generic quote. They need a team who understands the risk, earns competitive terms, and stays accountable after the bind. You will find, win, and grow relationships across business insurance, where service is the strategy and the sale is only the start. Success here is measured in retained clients, new revenue, and a team that trusts you to lead the account.

Performance Objectives

  • Build a qualified pipeline by researching prospects and connecting with owners, executives, and centers of influence by phone, email, and in person.
  • Win new business by preparing complete submissions, negotiating with carriers and brokers, and recommending coverage that fits the risk.
  • Retain and expand the book by partnering with account managers on renewals, cross-sell, contract reviews, and annual program changes.
  • Qualify prospects that fit the agency model and document activity so the team can deliver policies accurately and on time.
  • Strengthen underwriter relationships so complex property, coastal, professional, and high-net-worth risks can be placed on competitive terms.
  • Advise clients on exclusions, loss control, and claims issues with claims partners so coverage performs when it is needed.

Environment & Resources

A Charlotte office with a producer-led team, partnering daily with account managers, claims, and practice specialists. Tools include Applied Epic, Microsoft Office, and carrier marketing systems. You report to sales leadership, own your pipeline and results, and draw on carrier access, coaching, and a collaborative bench of insurance specialists.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven record of winning and retaining commercial business against a plan.
  • Current North Carolina Property & Casualty license, or a commitment to obtain and maintain one.
  • Discipline to research prospects, run a pipeline, and negotiate with underwriters.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with clients, carriers, and internal partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; CPCU, CIC, or a similar designation preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Applied Epic experience preferred.

Why This Role

  • A specialist brokerage, not a call-center model, where producers stay close to complex risk.
  • An entrepreneurial culture that rewards work ethic, optimism, and ownership.
  • A service team built to support the book you build, so selling and servicing stay connected.
  • A growth-mindset culture with a leadership team that is invested in your development.
