Pricing Actuary
Location: On-site, Hybrid, or 100% Remote

Compensation: $100K–$200K+ (based on experience and credentialing)

We're partnering with one of our best and fastest-growing clients — a well-established Property & Casualty insurance organization with three decades of underwriting expertise — to find a talented Pricing Actuary to join their Product & Pricing team. The successful candidate will transform decades of underwriting data and institutional knowledge into advanced pricing frameworks, predictive analytics, and decision-support tools — driving risk segmentation, profitability, and competitive positioning.
What You'll Do
Data Analysis & Pricing Strategy
- Analyze historical pricing data, market trends, and competitive strategies to recommend optimal pricing approaches using mathematics, probability, statistics, and financial expertise
- Develop and implement pricing models and methodologies to maximize profitability and market share
- Conduct pricing simulations and sensitivity analyses to evaluate business impact
- Develop marketplace-appropriate assumptions
- Analyze claims data using existing SQL queries and build new ones as needed
- Support quantitative projects involving claims and/or financial modeling
Market Research & Competitive Analysis
- Identify market opportunities, threats, and trends in transactional underwriting and predictive analytics
- Gather and analyze data from multiple sources to inform pricing decisions
- Prepare competitive intelligence reports and presentations for internal stakeholders
Performance & Reporting
- Develop pricing performance metrics, including price optimization, margin analysis, and price realization
- Prepare reports and presentations on pricing trends, profitability, and KPIs for leadership and market partners
- Produce prospective expected loss ratio (ELR) estimates by state
- Identify improvement opportunities and provide data-driven recommendations
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with sales, marketing, finance, and product teams to align pricing with business objectives
- Support sales teams with pricing proposals, deal analysis, and customer negotiations
- Contribute to cross-functional projects that enhance pricing capabilities
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline pricing processes and improve data accuracy
- Collaborate with IT and operations on pricing tools, systems, and automation
- Develop and document pricing policies, procedures, and best practices
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field
- Actuarial designation required
- 5+ years of property/casualty actuarial experience, including rate adequacy and claims data analysis
- Property & Casualty lines experience required; Commercial E&S Property and General Liability experience a plus
- Catastrophe modeling experience a plus
- ACAS or FCAS membership a plus but not required
- Strong Excel/data analysis tool proficiency
- SQL, R, or similar programming experience preferred
- Skilled in building presentation-ready exhibits
- Strong grasp of standard P&C actuarial pricing methods and concepts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Compensation: $100K–$150K for mid-level candidates (3–5 years); $150K–$200K for senior/credentialed candidates (5+ years)
