License Requirement (Required for Both Roles)

  • Active Florida clinical license (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or equivalent)

About the Role

Avento Health is a recruiting agency partnering with a PHP/IOP treatment provider in the Delray Beach, Florida area. Our client provides trauma-informed, relational care for adults navigating substance use disorder (SUD), process addictions, co-occurring mental health conditions, and trauma-related presentations.

We’re hiring a Primary Therapist for a collaborative, multidisciplinary PHP/IOP team. This is a 1099 contract role available in either a full-time or part-time capacity—ideal for clinicians who want structured programming with flexibility (including those supplementing a private practice).

Must-Haves (Read Before Applying)

  • Active Florida clinical license (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or equivalent)
  • Experience or strong comfort working with SUD and/or co-occurring disorders
  • Strong clinical judgment, boundaries, and communication skills
  • Ability to complete timely clinical documentation (including insurance-related documentation as needed)
  • Comfort working within structured program policies that support safety and boundaries (including a strict no-touch policy)
  • Ability to work on-site in Delray Beach, FL

What You’ll Do

As a Primary Therapist in our PHP/IOP program, you’ll support clients through intensive treatment using evidence-informed care and coordinated treatment planning. Responsibilities include individual therapy, case coordination, documentation, and a limited but meaningful role in group programming.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual therapy to PHP/IOP clients
  • Serve as primary therapist for an assigned caseload

Caseload expectations:

  • Part-Time: approximately 6–7 clients
  • Full-Time: approximately 10–11 clients
  • Facilitate group therapy as assigned (groups are typically 2 hours; full-time clinicians generally facilitate 1–2 groups per week, based on scheduling needs)
  • Support scheduling and documentation responsibilities tied to your caseload and groups
  • Conduct family calls and occasional family sessions when clinically appropriate
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (therapy, psychiatry, and support staff)
  • Participate in treatment planning, case consultation, and clinical meetings (including weekly caseload group meetings)
  • Complete accurate, timely clinical documentation and insurance-related notes as needed

Utilization Review / Peer-to-Peer

The program manages utilization review internally. Peer-to-peer reviews are handled by the Clinical Director. Therapists are expected to maintain strong documentation and provide timely clinical updates when needed.

Additional Compensation Opportunity

The program occasionally serves cash-pay intensive clients. When these cases are assigned, compensation to the clinician is higher.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

  • Experience in PHP/IOP, residential, or higher-acuity outpatient settings
  • Training or experience in trauma-focused approaches (EMDR, IFS, Somatic Experiencing, Psychodrama, etc.)
  • Interest in or exposure to process addictions work
  • CSAT certification is a plus, not required
  • Experience providing group therapy and psychoeducation
  • Experience working with adult male populations and/or culturally responsive care

Note: Specialized modalities such as EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and CSAT-related services may be provided by other clinicians and are not required for the role.

Training & Professional Development (Full-Time Emphasis)

  • Employer-paid CSAT curriculum (approximately $6,000 value)
  • Ongoing clinical consultation and supervision
  • A collaborative culture focused on ethical care and strong clinical practice
  • Trauma training support and development pathways (varies by clinician background and role)
