About the Opportunity
Avento Health is partnering with a correctional healthcare organization to hire a licensed Psychologist dedicated to providing high-quality mental health services within a secure correctional setting in Eloy, AZ.
This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of incarcerated individuals by delivering evidence-based psychological care, promoting mental wellness, and supporting rehabilitation efforts within a structured, multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations, including diagnostic assessments and risk evaluations.
- Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans in accordance with clinical findings and institutional requirements.
- Provide therapy, crisis intervention, and behavioral health counseling to inmates experiencing acute or chronic mental health conditions.
- Perform regular mental health rounds in general housing and restricted housing units to assess adjustment, safety, and treatment needs.
- Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, nurses, medical staff, social workers, and custody personnel to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely documentation in compliance with professional and facility standards.
- Participate in interdisciplinary case reviews and staff consultations to promote coordinated care and behavioral management strategies.
- Apply evidence-based practices consistent with ethical and trauma-informed approaches in correctional psychology.
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Psychology from an accredited college or university.

Active, unrestricted license to practice psychology in the State of Arizona (or eligibility to obtain one).

Minimum of two years of postdoctoral clinical experience, including at least one year in a comparable environment (correctional, forensic, or institutional).
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel locally as needed.
- Excellent communication, assessment, and documentation skills.
