About the Role

Avento Health is a recruiting agency partnering with a PHP/IOP treatment center in the Delray Beach, Florida area. Our client provides structured, trauma-informed care for individuals navigating substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, and process addictions, including sex addiction, gambling addiction, and pornography addiction.

This is a hands-on Behavioral Health Technician role with a strong growth path. The client is looking for someone who can support day-to-day client care while also helping improve program operations, workflows, structure, and consistency. This is not a routine support role. It is a meaningful opportunity for someone ambitious, dependable, and eager to grow within a behavioral health treatment setting.

For the right person, this role has strong advancement potential. A candidate who performs well, demonstrates sound judgment, takes initiative, earns trust quickly, and shows leadership potential will have a high likelihood of moving into greater operational responsibility in a relatively short period of time. The long-term goal is for the right person to grow into an Operations Manager role as the program continues to expand.

The program currently serves an adult male client population, with many clients coming from Jewish cultural and religious backgrounds. Candidates do not need to be Jewish, but they must be culturally sensitive, respectful, and comfortable working thoughtfully within that context.

What Our Client Is Looking For

Our client is seeking someone who is ambitious, proactive, and motivated to grow within a behavioral health organization. The ideal candidate is a true go-getter who wants to take ownership, support clients, and help build something meaningful.

This person should be comfortable working directly with clients while also thinking operationally. The right candidate will be interested in helping improve workflows, daily structure, systems, and program consistency over time.

Hands-on, proactive, and willing to take ownership

Strong interest in substance use treatment, process addictions, and mental health care

Comfortable supporting clients in a structured PHP/IOP treatment setting

Interested in operations, leadership, program development, and long-term growth

Able to help identify opportunities to improve workflows and day-to-day systems

Sensitive to or familiar with Jewish culture and able to work respectfully within that context

Comfortable working with an adult male treatment population

Experience working with LGBTQ+ clients or communities is a plus

Professional, emotionally grounded, and able to maintain appropriate boundaries

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct support, supervision, and behavioral monitoring for clients throughout the program day

Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment that supports treatment goals

Assist with client check-in, attendance tracking, transitions, and daily programming

Support group sessions by helping manage logistics, observing client participation, and reporting concerns to the clinical team

Conduct routine safety checks and monitor client behavior, mood, engagement, and participation

Document observations accurately and communicate client concerns, incidents, or changes in presentation to clinical staff in a timely manner

Use Sunwave EMR to support documentation, tracking, and coordination of daily client activities as needed

Assist with transportation of clients as needed in accordance with company policies

Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to support smooth daily program flow and continuity of care

Help identify opportunities to improve operational processes, systems, workflows, and day-to-day structure

Interest in growing into greater responsibility over time

Preferred Qualifications

At least 1 year of experience as a Behavioral Health Technician, Mental Health Technician, Recovery Support Staff, or in a similar behavioral health support role

Experience working with substance use disorder, co-occurring disorder, process addiction, or mental health populations

Ability to remain calm, professional, and engaged in a high-acuity or fast-moving clinical environment

Demonstrated interest in leadership, operations, program development, or long-term growth within a treatment setting
