Title: Health Information Systems Manager
Location: Hybrid Remote (Must reside and work in Arizona)
Salary: $70,000 - 75,000
As Health Information Systems Manager, you will oversee the systems and data infrastructure that support clinical and operational decision-making across a health services environment. The position manages electronic health record platforms and related applications, ensuring accurate reporting, secure data management, and reliable system performance. This role partners with program staff and leadership to optimize workflows, maintain compliance with healthcare data standards, and support technology initiatives that improve service delivery and organizational outcomes.
Your role:
· Serve as the primary administrator and functional owner of the electronic health record platform and related systems.
· Configure and maintain system features to align with program workflows and documentation standards.
· Manage user access, permissions, data retention, and security settings to protect sensitive information and meet privacy requirements.
· Coordinate system upgrades, testing cycles, and release activities to maintain platform stability and performance.
· Ensure reporting and data practices comply with applicable healthcare privacy and security regulations, accreditation standards, and internal policies.
· Act as the central point of contact between internal teams and external software partners to resolve issues and support system improvements.
· Design and maintain clinical documentation tools, forms, and system configurations that support accurate data collection and reporting.
· Develop queries, dashboards, and reports using SQL, reporting tools, and business intelligence platforms to support operational and strategic insights.
· Build or enhance data integrations and reporting functionality through APIs, data exports, and modeling techniques when required.
· Collaborate with program staff to understand workflows and reporting requirements to ensure data is accurate, complete, and usable.
· Monitor data quality and operational processes through audits and validation testing, implementing corrective actions when needed.
· Maintain support for legacy platforms during transitions to modern systems and coordinate system migration initiatives.
· Lead projects related to EHR implementations, enhancements, and regulatory updates while managing timelines and deliverables.
· Track project risks and progress to ensure successful completion of system initiatives.
· Develop and deliver training on system functionality, workflows, and documentation standards.
· Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for complex system issues.
· Maintain system documentation, user guides, and process materials for internal stakeholders.
· Coordinate internal teams and external partners during system transitions or new platform implementations.
· Support continuous improvement efforts that strengthen service delivery, operational efficiency, and data reliability.
· Perform additional duties as needed to support system operations and organizational priorities.
What you’ve got:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience with at least four years of experience in systems administration, data reporting, or health information systems.
· Strong understanding of relational databases, logic functions, and data structures used in reporting and system configuration.
· Experience writing SQL queries and building reports using database reporting tools or business intelligence platforms.
· Knowledge of systems engineering concepts, data modeling, testing processes, and solution design methods.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and general data analysis tools.
· Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
· Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
· Effective communication skills and the ability to train users on system workflows and reporting tools.
· Willingness to learn operational processes, program workflows, and evolving technology platforms.
Preferred
· Experience administering or supporting an electronic health record platform.
· Familiarity with reporting tools, business intelligence platforms, or Power BI.
· Experience supporting programs within healthcare, behavioral health, or social services environments.
