About the Organization

Builders is a civic movement founded to combat the toxic polarization threatening our democracy and help Americans rediscover what it means to work together across differences. Launched by KIND Snacks founder and social entrepreneur Daniel Lubetzky, Builders is rooted in the belief that courageous citizenship, constructive disagreement, and shared responsibility are essential to a thriving, pluralistic society. Builders operates from a clear premise: the real divide isn’t left versus right—it’s between solving problems and fueling division. Through a cross-partisan nonprofit initiative spanning media, civics, and education, Builders helps people build the mindset, skills, and relationships needed to become “Builders”—citizens equipped to create real, lasting solutions that reflect the will of the broad majority, and advance leadership that is accountable to the people.

Position Summary

Builders seeks a Director of People & Culture to shape the organization’s next chapter of growth and scale. Reporting to the Executive Director, this newly created role will serve as the sole owner of the people function - overseeing the full employee lifecycle from recruiting and onboarding to performance management, employee relations, and offboarding. As Builders plans significant hiring in the year ahead, this leader will personally drive full-cycle recruiting while evolving HR systems, strengthening culture, and ensuring people practices support both rapid growth and long-term sustainability. This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on, entrepreneurial people leader who thrives in a fast-paced, values-driven environment and enjoys building clarity, structure, and trust as organizations grow.

Location, Compensation & Benefits

This is a remote role, open to candidates located anywhere in the United States. The salary range for this position is $120,000–$150,000, commensurate with experience. Builders offers a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k) with employer match; generous paid time off; and support for wellness and professional development.
