Fullstack & Mobile Engineering Intern

Smartnosis is a software startup that is creating a concussion diagnosis and monitoring application for contact sports. We have developed our prototype/MVP that we have piloted with several combat sports promoters in CA to prove our concept and get real users and data. We are customizing our combat sports version for contact sports, targeting youth sports, private high schools and colleges. Our company culture is fun, easy going and professional. 

Fullstack & Mobile Engineering Intern

We are looking for a Full Stack Mobile Engineering Intern who is eager to gain experience and willing to learn engineering best practices and contribute production-level code during your internship.  We are looking for smart engineers passionate about building software and solving hard problems. Our Engineering Team values problem-solving, collaboration, constant learning, and curiosity about how things work. We hire engineers who want to be better at their jobs today than they were yesterday. What will you do:

• Work with CTO to implement patches and updates 
• Build efficient and reusable front-end and back-end systems
• Help identify ways to improve and diagnose bugs
• Work closely with the CEO, CTO and neurology team
• Use fit algorithms to find and implement a cost-effective solution
• Learn how to write small features and deploy them often (continuous delivery)
• Write unit tests and assist in finding and squashing bugs
• Participate in Job Shadowing, Mentorship, and other Career Exploration and Preparation activities
• Front End: React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Back End: Node, Express, PostreSQL, Experience with JWT, develop/maintain/debug API endpoints
• Mobile Development: iOS deployment, React Native, Xcode

What should you have:

• A creative problem solver who pays attention to detail
• Experience with Java Script Stack - React Native, Node/Express
• Able to deploy a native app on the iOS app store

Bonus Points

• Experience developing rich applications with HTML/CSS/JS
• Skilled in language such as React Native, Node, Express, HTML
• Passion for optimizing performance
• A passion for sports (contact and combat)

More Details 

• Location: remote
• Pay: $17.87/hr
• Start date:  Determined by LA-Tech (ASAP)
• Hours per week: 30
• Duration: 160 hours
