Who Are You?
As a Junior Design Intern for digital & social, you will collaborate with the team on static and motion assets for the agency as well as entertainment clients. As support to the creative team, you will assist in brainstorming, photography selection and masking, curated stock and scrap exploration, animating assets in After Effects to create 5-15sec motion pieces, GIFs, static social graphics, digital billboards and ad banners, resizing and adapting creative for use on multiple platforms/formats. In addition to project support, Intern will receive weekly, direct mentorship from leadership and design team, to build and evolve personal work portfolio. Mentorship to result in a minimum of 6 creative assets reflecting Intern’s skillsets relevant to the entertainment industry and gain exposure to the daily project lifecycle at a creative agency.
What We’re Looking For
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Graphic Design, Motion Design/Motion Media Design, Digital Media/Digital Design, Visual Communications, or related field
- Interest in motion graphics and digital storytelling for the entertainment industry, specifically streaming/TV/film
- Proficient in After Effects
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator
- 3D and/or Video editing knowledge a plus
Skills
- Clear communication and openness to feedback
- Creative problem solving
- Excellent attention to detail, especially in checking your work, taking direction, as well as file organization
- Work collaboratively with the team, even while working remote
- Ability to handle work/materials with extreme confidentiality

Subsidy Role Information
Subsidy roles require students to have an Los Angeles County based address, and be between the ages of 18-24 years old. Once you are placed in a subsidy eligible position you will be required to present the following documents to processed in a Youth Center (AJCC):
- Identification (School or State ID)
- Social Security Card (Please ensure that it is signed)
- Birth Certificate
- Proof of Los Angeles County Residency, including a postmarked date (Report Card, Transcripts, or any mail that is under the applicant’s name)
- Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination OR valid medical/religious exemption
- Work Permit (Required for Youth between the ages of 16-17 only)
- The Youth Center (AJCC) WILL BE PAYING YOU for 160 completed hours.
- You will be required to submit Timesheets to your YOUTH CENTER (AJCC) to be paid for your time worked.
*NOTE IF YOU WERE ALREADY PLACED IN A SUBSIDY POSITION (ACADEMY/INTERNSHIP). YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO QUALIFY FOR SUBSIDY ROLES UNTIL JULY 2025*
Position Summary
- The HUSTLE LA Junior Design Intern role offers hands-on experience creating static and motion digital assets for social and entertainment clients, while receiving weekly mentorship to build a portfolio tailored to the creative agency and entertainment industry. Interns will support the team in concept development, animation, and adapting designs across platforms.
