Web Development Intern 

Launched in 2020, Gritty In Pink is a dynamic platform advocating for gender equity in the music industry. Starting as a live event series, it quickly pivoted to a virtual format during the pandemic, hosting over 200 female musicians in online fundraisers. Gritty In Pink has evolved into a comprehensive initiative with the INPINK marketplace, connecting female and gender-expansive music industry professionals with employment opportunities. 


Web Developer Intern 

Are you passionate about music, gender equity, and creating impactful digital experiences? Gritty In Pink is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Web Development Intern to help bring our online presence to the next level. In this role, you’ll assist with building, updating, and optimizing our website to better serve our community and showcase our brand. You’ll work closely with our team to implement new features, improve user experience, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure our platforms run smoothly. If you’re a problem-solver who loves coding, design, and using technology to make a difference in the music industry, we’d love to hear from you! 


What will you do: 

● Oversee and continue buildout of membership platform via Webflow integrations 

● Assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of web applications using modern front-end and/or back-end technologies, as it relates to our online marketplace 

● Collaborate with the design and product teams to translate UI/UX wireframes into functional web components. 

● Debug and troubleshoot issues across a wide range of browsers and devices. ● Participate in team meetings to enhance development knowledge and team collaboration. 

● Stay current with emerging web technologies and development best practices. 

● Contribute ideas for improving the user experience and performance of web applications. 


What should you have: 

● Bonus if you are pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, but not required- open to all degrees 

● Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; familiarity with front-end frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular is a plus. Exposure to back-end technologies such as Node.js, Python, PHP, or databases like MySQL or MongoDB is a bonus. 

● Be familiar with Webflow, Squarespace or other similar platforms. 

● Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies. 

● Good communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

● A portfolio, or links to relevant projects is highly encouraged. 

● Passion for our mission to achieve gender equality in entertainment and beyond


More Details 

● Location: Remote 

● Pay: $16.90/hour 

● Start date: Determined by LA-Tech 

● Hours per week: 20 hours a week, non traditional hours 

● Duration: 160 hours
